Terms of Service

These terms cover your use of Sylarri, on the web at sylarri.com and in the iPhone app. By creating an account or using Sylarri, you agree to them. If you don't agree, don't use Sylarri.

Who can use Sylarri

Sylarri is made for college students, so you need a .edu email to sign up. You must be at least 13 (or older, if your country requires it).
Keep your account to yourself. You're responsible for what happens in it, so keep your password safe and tell us at hello@sylarri.com if you think someone else has used it.

Your content

It's yours. Syllabi, materials, notes, chats, and grades you add stay yours.
What you let us do with it: store it, and process it to run Sylarri for you. That means reading your documents with AI to find dates and answer your questions, and sharing your confirmed dates through your calendar link. Our privacy policy explains who processes it and why.
Only upload what you're allowed to. Your own work and course materials your instructor gave you for the class are fine. Don't upload anything you don't have the right to share or store.
When you delete content or your account in Settings, we delete it.

Check the dates

Sylarri uses AI to read syllabi, class websites, and calendars. AI makes mistakes: it can miss a deadline, misread a date, or get a time zone wrong. That's why extracted dates wait for you to review them before they reach your calendar. Your syllabus, your instructor, and your school's systems are the final word on deadlines, grades, and policies. Sylarri is a study aid, not an official record.

Academic honesty

Sylarri's tutor is built to help you learn: it gives hints and explanations, not finished answers to submit. Follow your school's and your instructors' rules on using AI. Don't use Sylarri to cheat, and don't submit its output as your own work where that isn't allowed.

Don't misuse Sylarri

Don't:

break the law, or anyone else's rights, using Sylarri;
try to get into other people's accounts or data, or get around our limits and security;
overload, scrape, or reverse engineer the service, or use bots to sign up or send sign-in emails;
upload malware or anything meant to harm Sylarri or its users.

We may suspend or close accounts that do.

The service

Sylarri is in beta. Features will change, some may stop, and there may be outages or bugs.
AI features have daily limits so the service stays free and available for everyone.
Sylarri has a free plan and a paid plan, Sylarri Pro. Prices are on the pricing page.

Sylarri Pro

Pro is a subscription, paid through Stripe. It renews automatically at the end of each period (a month or a year) at the price you signed up for, until you cancel.
You can cancel anytime in Settings › Plan. You keep Pro until the end of the period you've paid for, and you won't be charged again. We don't refund partial periods, except where the law requires it.
If a payment fails, Stripe retries it for a while and Pro stays on; if it keeps failing, your account moves to the free plan. Your data stays.
If we change Pro's price, we'll tell you at least 30 days before it applies to you, and you can cancel before then.
Even on Pro, AI features have fair-use limits so the service stays available for everyone.

Ending your account

You can delete your account in Settings at any time. This permanently removes your data right away. We may close an account that breaks these terms, or close Sylarri altogether; if we close Sylarri, we'll give you notice first when we can.

No warranties

Sylarri is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, including that it's accurate, uninterrupted, or error-free, to the extent the law allows.

Limits on liability

To the extent the law allows, Sylarri and the people who run it aren't liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for missed deadlines, grades, or academic outcomes, from using or being unable to use Sylarri. Some places don't allow these limits, so they may not all apply to you.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. If a change matters, we'll tell you in the app or by email before it takes effect. Using Sylarri after that means you accept the new terms.
